Now that it’s February, we thought we’d do a quick check-in on all of those well-intentioned New Year resolutions. Raise your hand if you’ve been sticking with yours! We get it: having motivation to keep a resolution in the dead of winter can be tough. Right about this time, motivation starts to wane and falling back into old habits is just plain easier. However, did you know there are ways to maintain or even start a resolution right here in the North Metro-Atlanta area? Whether you’re looking to learn a new skill or maintain a healthy habit, our area has a wealth of ways to keep you on your resolution A-game.
If your resolution is exercising, don’t miss our amazing walking trails. Our parks are plentiful and our scenery inspiring. Just steps from your front door, you can meander the banks of the Chattahoochee River all while hitting your 10,000 steps goal! Parks are often free or simply require a nominal parking fee. Take steps to a healthier you via our metro-Atlanta trails and greenspaces.
If your resolution is learning a new skill, there are tons of area classes worth inquiring about. From flower arranging to painting, there’s a class for everyone. Take for example the Whole Foods cooking school, Salud. The school is located at Avalon and offers a range of classes for all skill levels and taste buds. There are even classes for even the youngest cooks! Truly, a cooking school experience could be a great event for the entire family. Find the Salud Avalon schedule here to learn more.
If your resolution is breaking the ties to technology, plan a technology free date night at one of our incredible local restaurants. Our favorites include Table and Main, Coalition Food and Beverage, and The Mill. They each provide a different atmosphere, and while all are of course Instagram worthy, use the opportunity to leave your phone in your pocket – or even better in your car – and spend much needed one on one time with your partner.
If your resolution is improving eating habits, you won’t want to miss local Alpharetta juice bar 3:8 Juice & Eatery. While the name might sound deceiving, locally owned and operated 3:8 Juice & Eatery offers a robust menu beyond yummy juices and includes variety of tasty (healthy) eats. Who knows? Their plant-forward menu might even inspire you to incorporate a weekly meatless Monday challenge into your healthy eating routine!
If your resolution is incorporating more travel, you’re in luck. There are so many opportunities for escaping town without extensive planning. Drivable destinations like Barnsley Resort or The Ritz at Lake Oconee are just a sampling of the incredible, luxurious resorts only a short drive away. These properties are family friendly, but they’re also perfect for a romantic getaway. For other awesome travel ideas around our area, check out our other blog posts on the topic.
Having access to so many amazing experiences is one of the many reasons we love living in our area. If you’re looking to make a permanent move to Metro Atlanta, the Wright Clinkscales Team would be honored to be your Atlanta realtors or choice!
